What is Voiznet Broadband Phone Service?

  • Voiznet is a Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) service that allows you to call to any international phone or cellular number.

  • A DSL or a Mobile Net wireless Internet connection, a Voiznet telephone adapter and a regular telephone are required for service.

  • Calls can be made and received using any cordless or regular phone using the Voiznet adapter.

  • Your Personal Account Manager allows you to access your Voiznet account, see your phone calls, and manage your enhanced features, all from the Web interface that you can access from any Internet connection.

How is Voiznet different from my current telephone service?

  • Voiznet Broadband Phone Service, as a Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) service, differs from regular telephone service. A DSL or cable Internet connection, a regular telephone, a router, and telephone adapter are required for service.

  • When placing a US call with Voiznet service, you must dial 1 plus the ten-digit telephone number (area code and number 1-xxx xxx-xxxx) of the person you are trying to reach. When placing an International call with Voiznet service, you must dial 011-the country code and the telephone number of the person you are trying to reach. Voiznet service is completely portable. Wherever there is a broadband connection, you can make calls with your Voiznet adapter - or access many of Voiznet Features directly from the Internet through your Personal Account Manager.

  • Voiznet service will not work if power is out. Voiznet will not support home security systems. Network congestion or use of data services at the same time as Voiznet might affect sound quality. To use more than one phone with your Voiznet service, an expandable cordless phone system is required.

How do I take my Voiznet service with me, if I move to a new address?

  • You can take your Voiznet service with you as long as a DSL or wireless Broadband Internet connection is available.

What form of payment is accepted?

  • All Voiznet packages require prepaid recurring payment on Visa or MasterCard. Or must be paid in advance to a Voiznet representative.

What are the bandwidth requirements for Voiznet?

  • The minimum bandwidth requirements for Voiznet are 256Kbps download/downstream, 64Kbps upload/upstream. However, if you plan to surf the Internet and download information while using your Voiznet service, we recommend 512Kbps download/96 Kbps upload.

Do I need a Static IP to use Voiznet?
  • No, you do not need a Static IP for Voiznet but if you do have one, we will support it.

With Voiznet, can I talk on the phone and use my computer at the same time?

  • Yes, your Voiznet service will work even if you are simultaneously accessing the Internet, sending files or instant messaging over the same broadband connection with your computer. Use of data services at the same time as use of Voiznet may affect sound quality.

If I lose power, will I still be able to use my Voiznet service?

  • No, a power or broadband service outage will prevent ALL service from working. Voiznet Service will not function until power is restored. However, you have the option of forwarding your calls to your cell phone or alternate phone number.

Do I need to have my computer on to make a call?

  • If you are making calls using a normal telephone (connected to adapter and router) your computer does not need to be on for Voiznet to work. You can make and receive calls just like you would with your traditional phone service.

Will anyone be able to call me?

  • Yes, with Voiznet you can make and receive calls just like you would with traditional phone service – anyone can call you from anywhere. Voiznet improves and simplifies call management by letting customers set up and manage popular call features like voice mail, call logs, call forwarding and caller ID online via Personal Account Manager.

  • Upon selecting an Area Code and calling area from the list of those available when ordering Voiznet service, any available telephone number from that Area Code inventory will be automatically selected and confirmed for you. Not all Area Codes are available.

  • Voiznet offers Caller ID that displays the Caller ID and name on all inbound calls. Caller ID with Name helps you to identify calls you want to take by displaying the ID information on your handset. Your Telephone handset must be capable of displaying Caller ID.

  • A monthly fee for the Voiznet Calling Plan, including the standard set of features, is billed one month in advance on a credit card. Calls outside the monthly plan are billed from your additional.

What is the Voiznet Account Set-Up Fee and what does it include?

  • The Account activation Fee includes the set up of your telephone number and your personal account information that is needed to get started using your Voiznet Service.

How does the Money Back Guarantee work?

  • Voiznet offers a 30-day Money Back Guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the Voiznet service and wish to cancel the service within 30-days of when you activate your Voiznet. We will take back the Voiznet Adaptor and refund you the money you may have paid for the adaptor and / or the account activation fee. You will only pay the actual cost of the minutes you have used during this 30 day period. You must return the equipment in good working condition.

How is my Voiznet billing cycle date determined?

  • The Voiznet monthly billing cycle date starts on the first day of the month. The first month is billed prorated for the partial month.

  • Your credit card will be automatically charged every month on the last date of the month.

Can I Call locations that are not in my calling plan?

  • Yes. You can make calls to any location not included in your monthly calling plan. However, you must first Deposit $10/$20/$50 in your ‘Out of Plan’ Account. Our LOW rates will apply to all Out of Plan calls.
